Linezolid is a synthetic oxazolidinone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 23S portion of the 50S ribosomal subunit, preventing formation of the 70S initiation complex.
Bacteriostatic against staphylococci and enterococci
Bactericidal against most streptococci

Serotonin Syndrome Risk: Avoid with SSRIs, SNRIs, tricyclics, buspirone, meperidine, triptans
Blood Pressure Effects: Caution with vasopressors, dopaminergic agents
Tyramine-containing foods: Avoid aged cheese, fermented products, soy sauce, etc.
Store between 15°C–30°C, protect from light and moisture
